No Label Bands - We began this venture back in 2010 a couple friends who enjoyed going out and seeing live music at some local establishments and well also beer. One warm Arizona night we were hanging out with one of our friends who was a drummer in a band and discussing the injustice of being a talented, hard working and unpaid musician. We were angry because we knew the struggle they had finding gigs and the low pay or sometimes just free drinks they got for being the night's entertainment. We discussed how so many of these artists would so love to hear their original songs they wrote, rehearsed and played their asses off in front of sometimes unenthusiastic audiences played on the radio. Especially when I listened to my radio every day in the car and felt hell these songs aren't as good as the ones some of my friends ones are! Well in that beer drinking conversation our anger inspired an idea. Hey what if we could create a radio station that ONLY played Indie music? The artists and bands themselves would be the base audience and as the word got out others would follow. We would have a popular station and everyone would hear what we hear and this would become the mainstream! And so it was that 'No Label AZ Radio' was born. We got to work and before long had our website, radio station and music from well over 180 bands from just in the state of Arizona! We even had a mobile app. We loved what we did and we worked hard. We had several daily and weekly DJ hosted shows, live shows and appearances, promos and even a few sponsors. We gained listeners every day from everywhere in the world! Unfortunately for us and even more unfortunately for all the bands we were a few years ahead of our time. Our station was a lot of work, money from our own pockets and this was the days when there was not such a thing as 'Unlimited data' plans. We weren't able to get the financial support and overwhelming attention that was needed to continue on. But all that said we knew we loved the idea and we still had an itch that needed to be scratched which is why WE ARE BACK BABY!!! They said it would happen but who are they anyway and what do "they" know? With new passion and new knowledge and not to mention the right decade we are back with a vengence! This station will go on and on and on but we are asking for support. I never wanted any of my bands to ever go into their pockets and they never did. However, lessons learned says we do need help to make this work. We request that you will donate $5 for each song you send us to play and promote for you. If you want to spend more we will accept! Our original bands are played on the station and without any donations required but if they want to donate and send some new stuff we will accept!
